Bombay Duck

A small, slender marine fish (about 12–18 cm) with soft, delicate flesh and almost no bones — known for its smooth, melt-in-the-mouth texture.

  • Commonly found in coastal waters and usually swims in schools along Vietnam’s central and southern shores.

  • Main spawning periods: July–August and October to early the following year, when the catch volume peaks.

  • In some areas (such as the waters of Cà Mau), Bombay duck is most abundant from after Lunar New Year to late May, aligning with its reproductive cycle.
